Flight Discovery Experiences Available at Avia Aviation

A Discovery Experience is your first step into the world of aviation with Avia. It’s a one-on-one, in-person session designed to help you understand what flight training involves and how it can align with your goals.

These appointments are for anyone curious about flying—whether you’re considering a recreational licence, thinking about a career in aviation, or simply exploring the possibilities.

We created Discovery Appointments to give you clarity. Aviation can feel complex from the outside, so this process exists to answer your questions, show you the environment, and help you see what your own pathway could look like.

Tour of the Facilities

Next, we’ll take you on a tour of our operations area, simulator centre, and aircraft fleet so you can see exactly what happens when you arrive for a lesson. This is also when we help you choose the aircraft that best suits your goals. Whether you want to take family and friends flying or work toward a commercial career, we’ll consider your intended licence, flying preferences, and passenger needs to recommend the right fit. The tour helps you understand the training environment and gives you confidence in the facilities and aircraft you’ll be using.

Pricing and Training Overview

Once an aircraft has been selected, we’ll map out the training path that will take you to your licence. This includes what’s required for the licence itself, any extra training that comes with your chosen aircraft, and a clear breakdown of costs. We’ll factor in realistic buffer hours, since very few students finish on the minimum, and also outline materials, medicals, theory exams, and supplies. By this stage, we’ll have a strong sense of your learning style and personality, which allows us to recommend an instructor who will be a great match for your training.

What Happens Next

If you’re ready to begin, we’ll book your first lesson and place a small holding deposit on your account. You’ll also receive some materials to help you get started. Importantly, we don’t expect a large financial commitment upfront. The first few lessons are designed to give you a genuine taste of flight training so you can decide if it’s something you truly enjoy. After those lessons, we’ll complete your full induction and set up a tailored training plan that reflects your goals and timeline.

A 60-minute, in-person session with an experienced instructor designed to give you real insight into aviation.
