The Ultimate Scenic Flying Adventure
The Navigation Flight Experience is the Pilot Experience… And much more!  Destinations can be tailored to your time & budget.  Perfect for those wanting a thrilling, one-time extended adventure in the sky. With your instructor guiding you, you’ll get hands-on control and a true taste of what it’s like to navigate an aircraft—all without committing to formal training.

💰 Aircraft & Pricing:

  • Cirrus SR20 or SR22 – priced on current per-hour training rates

⏱️ Duration: up to you!

  • Pre-Flight Briefing, Planning and Checking Aircraft – around 30 minutes
  • Time in the aircraft, will depend on where you’d like to go
Before You Fly
Before boarding, we’ll cover key pre-flight procedures to ensure a safe and smooth experience, including entry/exit, seatbelts, door operation, and emergency protocols.
Before takeoff, we’ll cover ground-based navigation planning
Step into the Flight Deck
In the air, you’ll experience basic aircraft manoeuvres, learn to recognise different flight sounds and sensations, and gain insight into the essential pre-flight checks pilots perform to ensure a safe journey.

Taking Control
You will be at the controls for much of the flight, with your instructor assessing your abilities and guiding you. However, in controlled airspace, the instructor will take over to ensure safe and smooth operations. This is the perfect time to enjoy unmatched views and take incredible photos!

Learning Navigation in the Sky
Your hands-on navigation practice will depend on the day’s conditions. You’ll use a map and GPS to track your position and refine your piloting skills along the route.

Finding Landmarks
Challenge yourself to spot key navigation features, this depends where you go, for example:
Understanding Controlled Airspace
City Orbit Request (optional, and ATC approval dependent)
If you choose this, as we approach Melbourne’s controlled airspace, your instructor will take control to request clearance for a flight around the CBD (ciry orbit). You’ll listen in on radio communications and learn about airspace procedures. If clearance is approved – you’ll complete an orbit (or two) of the city skyline with your instructor controlling the aircraft.
Heading Home & Post-Flight Recap
As we return, you’ll assist your instructor with flight controls while they handle the approach and landing. You’ll still be actively involved in the process, ensuring a fully immersive experience.

Once we land, we’ll go over what you learned and answer any questions. If you’re interested in further flight training, we’ll discuss the next steps toward becoming a pilot!

Please note: For these experience flights, additional passengers cannot be carried
