The Recreational Pilot Licence (RPL) is your introduction to flying. As your first licence, an RPL is the first step in your flying journey towards achieving your Private Pilot Licence, your Commercial Pilot Licence and beyond!

WHAT’S INVOLVED IN RPL TRAINING?
You take the controls. Along with your highly experienced instructor, you’ll work through the basic lessons required to complete your RPL.
You’ll learn how to:
- Control the aircraft
- Perfect your take-offs and landings
- Fly without your instructor
- Handle emergencies
These lessons are the fundamental building blocks of becoming a safe and capable pilot. At the end of your RPL training you can sit your RPL theory exam and flight test or continue straight onto PPL training.

WHO IS AN RPL COURSE FOR?
Our RPL course is for anyone wanting to learn to fly. All pilots complete these fundamental lessons.
In this training, you’ll learn the basic fundamentals of flying and will be able to fly passengers within 25 miles of your departure aerodrome.
All future flight training is built on the fundamentals learnt during your basic training.
